HELLO AND WELCOME
I know starting therapy can be a daunting process. Whether you’ve been in therapy before or if it’s your first time, it’s hard to be vulnerable and to give voice to the feelings and experiences that bring us discomfort, pain or shame. And, therapy can be incredibly rewarding. Creating meaning out of our dark and painful experiences is a transformative process. That’s why I got into this work.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Therapy with me is client-centered and collaborative. What this means is that we work together on what you want to work on. I bring my training and expertise to the table, but you are the expert on yourself. No one knows you better than you.
My approach is warm, compassionate and nonjudgmental. My aim is to create a safe space where you feel seen, heard and comfortable to explore and express yourself. I want you to have a place where you can be your authentic self. I want to hear your story.
Therapy works best when there is a strong connection between the therapist and client, so it’s very important to me that you feel it’s a good fit between us. Ultimately, I want you to find a therapist you feel connected to, and if that’s not me, that’s ok.
MY BACKGROUND
I am an Associate Social Worker and received my master’s in social work from Smith College in 2020. My education was grounded in psychodynamic theory, though I incorporate humanistic and existential psychology in my work as well. I provide individual therapy to adults and adolescents seeking mental health support.
MY EXPERIENCE INCLUDES:
Working as a therapist with adolescents and their families at a clinic treating eating disorders. I provided individual, group and family therapy, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Time at a county clinic in Daly City serving adults in the community with mental health issues. I provided individual and group therapy, case management, and crisis intervention.
Offering individual therapy and crisis intervention to college and graduate students in the counseling center of the San Francisco Art Institute.
